Malé: Villimale Island Day Trip with Hotel or Airport Pickup

5 hours

Easy

Escape the hustle and bustle of Malé on a day trip to Villingili Island. Enjoy a guided tour of the island, relax on the beach, and explore the island at your own pace.

This tour is a perfect day trip for those looking to spend a relaxing day in the capital before an evening flight or with limited time from a cruise ship or resort transfer.

Start your day with a pickup from your accommodation in the Greater Malé area (Velana International Airport, hotels and guesthouses in Hulhumale or Male City, Speedboat Terminal, or Cruise Ship Terminal). Meet your guide and travel by private vehicle to the Villingili Ferry Terminal. Board the ferry and take a short ride to Villingili Island.

Upon arrival, enjoy a walking tour of the island. Learn about the island's unique history and haunted reputation, and see areas of interest, such as restaurants, cafes, beaches, dive shops, and rental shops for water sports and snorkeling gear.

After your tour, enjoy free time to explore the island at your own pace. Stroll shaded lanes lined with colorful homes, relax on one of the few public beaches in the capital region where swimming is permitted, and experience a laid-back local community atmosphere.

Visitors can enjoy scenic coastal views, quiet parks, and authentic cafés while learning about the island’s role as a residential hub for Maldivians. It’s the perfect stop for travelers seeking culture, local flavor, and a peaceful contrast to the bustle of the capital.

After your free time, meet your guide and take the ferry back to Malé. Your guide will help you find transit to your accommodations or your next destination.
